If you're a high school student interested in plants, livestock, or wildlife, the Kansas Range Youth Camp offers an educational experience unlike any other in the state. With over 50 years of history, this long-standing camp introduces youth to the science and stewardship of Kansas rangelands.
Campers participate in hands-on learning activities focused on rangeland ecology, plant identification, grazing management, and more. In addition to educational sessions, the camp offers classic outdoor experiences and the chance to connect with students from across Kansas.
What to Expect
Campers will explore key topics in rangeland management, including:
Plant identification and growth
Livestock nutrition and stocking rates
Wildlife habitat and ecosystem balance
Additional activities include field trips, a steak dinner, and recreational options such as swimming, canoeing, fishing, and hiking.
Students are encouraged to contact their local Conservation District for potential financial assistance.
